Nikolai Klebanov, M.D.
Dr. Nikolai Klebanov is a Harvard-trained, board-certified dermatologist who practices medical and surgical dermatology. He specializes in skin cancer screening and treatment as well as medical management of rashes and chronic skin conditions. Dr. Klebanov is an expert in procedural dermatology, including skin cancer surgery, and has an eye for aesthetics and facial rejuvenation with neuromodulators (Botox) and dermal fillers.
Dr. Klebanov was born in Moscow, Russia and came to America as a child. He grew up in Newton, Massachusetts and has spent most of his life in New England.
Dr. Klebanov attended Tufts University where he graduated first in his class in chemical engineering and was the captain of the ballroom dance team. Dr. Klebanov then attained his M.D. from the Tufts University School of Medicine with Research Honors. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society during his fourth year of medical school. Dr. Klebanov completed his internship at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center transitional year program at Brockton Hospital in Massachusetts.
Dr. Klebanov completed his dermatology residency at Harvard Medical School-Massachusetts General Hospital where he served as chief resident. He has received a number of awards for his research, and his original investigations, book chapters, case reports, and review articles have been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals in areas ranging from cancer genetics, melanoma detection, dermatologic medication safety during COVID, and biochemical engineering.
Prior to joining MassDerm, Dr. Klebanov was on faculty at the Lahey Hospital Division of Dermatology in Burlington, Massachusetts. He currently remains part-time faculty at Lahey where he enjoys teaching Harvard dermatology residents and seeing patients in the executive health program.
In his spare time, Dr. Klebanov enjoys spending time with his family, fitness, learning foreign languages, and traveling.
