Welcome Dr. Jessica Awerman to Massachusetts Dermatology Associates!

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Jessica Awerman has joined our team at Massachusetts Dermatology Associates! As a board-certified dermatologist with exceptional credentials and a passion for compassionate patient care, Dr. Awerman brings a wealth of expertise to our Beverly practice.

Dr. Awerman’s journey in medicine began at Tufts University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Biology and received Highest Honors in Research. She continued her education at Tufts University School of Medicine, earning her M.D. with research honors. Her outstanding academic achievements were recognized through induction into both the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society for academic excellence and the Honos Civicus Medical Society for her dedication to community service.

Following medical school, Dr. Awerman completed her internship at Newton Wellesley Hospital through a transitional year program that provided valuable experience in both Internal Medicine and Surgery. She began her dermatology residency at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas, before returning home to complete her training at Tufts Medical Center.

Prior to joining our practice, Dr. Awerman served patients as a dermatologist in Brockton and North Andover, gaining valuable experience treating diverse dermatological conditions. She is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology and has contributed significantly to dermatological research, with more than 10 peer-reviewed journal articles published and presentations at national medical meetings.

Dr. Awerman specializes in comprehensive dermatological care, with particular expertise in:

• Skin cancer screening and surgical excisions
• Treatment of acne, eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea
• Mole evaluation and monitoring
• Surgical and procedural dermatology
• Management of both benign and malignant skin lesions

What truly sets Dr. Awerman apart is her commitment to compassionate, individualized patient care. She understands that each patient has unique needs, lifestyle considerations, and preferences, and she tailors her treatment approach accordingly. Her goal is to ensure every patient feels heard, understood, and confident in their treatment plan.

When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Awerman enjoys staying active through running, exploring new destinations through travel, expressing her creativity through crafting, and spending quality time with her family. As a Massachusetts native, she’s excited to be back home and serving her local community.
